When work takes over

What a crazy couple of weeks. Isn't it funny how there are times when your real life seems to take over? When things like work, moving, and kids, just demand that they take a higher priority than your on-line activites?

Transition seems to be the word of the month, and I can't say that I've ever been more content. July began with a bang! and we're not talking fireworks. June 30th was moving day. I used www.moveforfree.com. While at first, it was a bit frustrating, on moving day, it was a blessing. 102 degrees outside... and I had two rather attractive men doing my heavy lifting. And since it was 102 degrees, I decided to let these two strapping men move all of my boxes and pay the excess *moveforfree sets a limit on the number of boxes that are actually free*. That was awsome in itself. Although when midnight rolled around and i was still moving crap from the old apartment, I repeatedly thought to myself... a man would be good right now.
I turned my key in at 10am July 1st, and, I don't owe them any money for repairs or carpet damage. YESS!!!

I spent my first weekend in the new place with my daughter, her dad, and two of his friends. It wasn't as bad as it seems, but, it was tiring. Considering that it was a holiday weekend, we did a lot of site-seeing. It was moderately enjoyable. Lil'Chem headed home with her dad on the 4th after spending most of the day at the zoo.

The first week at my new apartment at work mostly. I stayed close to home since i was broke. When payday came along, I did a little grocery shopping, as I had resolved to begin the first phase of the SouthBeach Diet. My Dr had suggested it during my last visit as a means of getting my diabetes under control. I have to say, I'm doing pretty well with it, and my glucose levels have been fairly decent.
